Singapore's mm2 hitches with Boulderlight for "Good Match"
Original source. Singapore’s mm2 Entertainment has teamed with J.D. Lifshitz and Raphael Margules’ BoulderLight Pictures to produce “Good Match,” a high-concept thriller from screenwriter-turned director David Chirchirillo. The film is a contemporary U.S. thriller about a good-looking bachelor who meets a seemingly perfect match via a social dating app. However, things take a dark turn when her behavior starts to become erratic. Chirchirillo’s previous credits include SXSW Midnight Award winner “Cheap Thrills” and Magnolia’s “ABC’s of Death 2.” He recently landed on the ‘Black List’ for spec script “Eli,” which was picked up by Broad Green Entertainment. Production on “Good Match” starts in July. Boulderlight will handle world sales.“ Good Match will be our first US film co-production and we’re excited to take this significant step into the US market,” said Melvin Ang, CEO of mm2 Entertainment, part of stockmarket-listed mm2 Asia. Last week mm2 Entertainment announced a partnership with the Media Development Authority of Singapore to develop local Chinese language scriptwriters for Singapore’s film industry. As part of a three-year program with a total budget of US$5.8 million (S$8 million,) mm2 will train aspiring scriptwriters. BoulderLight last year struck a 3-picture slate financing deal with Hong Kong director-producer Pang Ho-cheung’s Making Film Productions. The slate will be focused on projects budgeted in the low-seven figure US dollar budget range. The first film, “Dismissed” began production in August 2015 with a high-profile cast.
